Ready, Set, Paint! 

The Art Challenge is an exciting competition where artists paint live before an audience at the RBC Convention Centre during the International Pow Wow. There are two rounds of 20 painters. The top 5 from each round move onto to the final round and the chance to win. Participants have 30 minutes each round to produce a live painting. 

Round 1 – Saturday, May 20, 2017
Live Painting: 3:00pm – 3:30pm
Public Voting: 3:30pm – 5:30pm 

Round 2 – Saturday, May 20, 2017
Live Painting: 6:30pm – 7:00pm
Public Voting: 7:00pm – 9:00pm

The top 3 from both rounds will be decided on by ‘free’ public voting onsite, and will move onto the final round. All paintings will stay onsite until Sunday at 6:30pm. 

Round 3 (Final) – Sunday, May 21, 2017
Live Painting: 3:00pm – 3:30pm
Winner will be juried and announced at 5:00pm

1st - $500
2nd - $300
3rd - $200

First 20 applicants will be accepted (Ages 16+). Registration is open to individual artisans nationally, and internationally and is free of charge.

Painting supplies will be provided: Acrylic paint, 18 X 24 canvas, easel;
Bring your own brushes; 20 individual artists (16+), all nations, will compete, with 6 painters moving onto the final round;
Rounds will be 30 minutes, and counted down every 10 minutes;
There is no theme;
Winners will be decided by public vote, and prizes will be awarded to the top 3, winners announced on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at 5:00 p.m;
If you wish, your paintings can be bid on and purchased, but may not be removed until the final 6 are announced to move onto the final round;
There is no registration fee, however, you must purchase a ticket to the Manito Ahbee Festival International Pow Wow to gain entry into the RBC Convention Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
