International Competition Powwow

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA, CANADA
The MTS Centre in downtown Winnipeg will open its doors to one of the largest Competition Pow Wows in North America. Last year, over 500 dancers and 22 Drum Groups competed and showcased traditional dance and music from tiny tots to golden age.
The three host drums were Bear Creek, Battle River, and Southern Outlawz. Head Staff included Vince Beyl, Tommy Christian, Ron McNabb, Jodi Gillette, Colby Tootoosis, Kevin Syrette, and Mack Kingbird. Minister Eric Robinson made an appearance as a Guest Master of Ceremonies.
The 2008/09 Miss Manito Ahbee Traveling Princess was crowned. Passing on the title from last year was Carissa Copenace to fifteen year old Dakota Speidel. She will carry the crown and the sash of the Manito Ahbee Festival throughout the year.
