David Dandeneau
David A. Dandeneau was born and raised in Fisher Branch, Manitoba. He received his BA and his certificat of Education from the Collège universitaire de Saint-Boniface. He recently retired as Director of Development of this same University in the fall of 2006. He is proud of his Métis roots and is co-founder and past Chair of the Elzéar-Goulet Local, the only French-speaking Metis Local under the governance of the MMF. While working as Director of Development he helped establish the Metis Student Association at the University. He established, with the help of the MMF, the Neil Gaudry Endowment Fund, a Bursary and Scholarship Fund for Metis Students. The Endowment Fund has surpassed the one million dollars mark. David is also involved in many community organizations. He is presently Chair of the Board of Manitoba Film & Music, member of the Board of Heritage Winnipeg, President of the Saint-Boniface Development Corporation, Chair of the Youville Diabetes Centre, founder & President of Héritage Saint-Boniface and is actively involved in the Festival du Voyageur as past Official Voyageur. He is presently working as Vice-President of Development of IDFusion Software, an Aboriginal IT company and Business Manager for MJAnne Couture, an Aboriginal women’s clothing design and manufacturing company based in Winnipeg. He most recently accepted to serve on the Board of Manito Ahbee Festival Inc.
Married to Huguette Mulaire, they have four children, Christian, Stéphane, Marie-Josée and Andréanne and two grandchildren, Amélie and Justin.
